☀️July, Fun in the Sun; 🍦 A Scoop of Summer Nostalgia

Dear Creative Friend, Do you remember ice cream socials?
Maybe yours was held on the lawn beside a little white church, under the shade of enormous maple trees. Maybe it was at the elementary school after the last baseball game of summer, where folding tables were covered in checkered cloths and someone was always cranking homemade vanilla in an old wooden freezer packed with salt and ice.
Or perhaps you only know them from old photographs. Either way, they feel like something America has quietly tucked away. This week, I found myself wondering...
What if every family in town invented their own signature ice cream flavor?
Imagine strolling down Main Street with a little tasting spoon in hand. The Johnsons proudly serving Blackberry Porch Swing Ice Cream. Mrs. Abernathy insisting everyone try her Lemon Chiffon Pie Ice Cream. The Millers unveiling Grandpa's Chocolate Malt. Children carrying ribbons. Neighbors voting for their favorite. By sunset, someone would be crowned the Ice Cream Queen (or King) not because she baked the fanciest dessert, but because she created something everyone couldn't stop smiling about.
Perhaps it never really happened. But I rather wish it had. That's the wonderful thing about creativity.
We aren't limited to recording history. Sometimes we get to invent the memories we wish existed.
So this week, our American Summer collection invites you to spend an afternoon in a tiny Midwestern town where the bunting is fluttering, the band is warming up in the gazebo, and everyone is lining up for one more scoop before the fireflies come out.
What flavor would your family bring? I'd love to know.

🎁 July Feature: Ice Cream Social
Every small town deserves a little pageantry... especially when ice cream is involved.
This week's featured freebies celebrate the Annual Ice Cream Social, where neighbors gather beneath strings of bunting, children line up for another scoop, and everyone eagerly waits to see who will take home the blue ribbon.
Included in this week's collection are two delightful keepsakes:
👑 The Ice Cream Queen Crown — an over-the-top vintage-inspired crown fit for the reigning queen of homemade ice cream, sparkling with sweet details and old-fashioned charm.
🎀 Winner's Ribbon Sticker Sheet — a collection of beautifully ornate 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place award ribbons, perfect for decorating journal pages, recipe cards, imaginary county fair entries, or your own creative storytelling adventures.
Whether you're documenting a real summer memory or inventing a brand-new tradition, I hope these little treasures inspire you to imagine a town where every family has a secret ice cream recipe, every scoop comes with a story, and creativity is always the grand prize.
After all... the sweetest memories are sometimes the ones we create ourselves.

✨ Inside My Journal This Week: Passport to Possibilities
This week my art studio table has looked more like a vintage travel bureau than a journal studio! I've been getting ready for next week's South Kansas City Junk Journal Society meetup, where our July theme is Passport of Possibilities. Everyone is creating tiny passport pages to trade, inspired by places we'd love to visit; whether they're real destinations, dream vacations, or entirely imaginary worlds.
Of course... I couldn't resist taking my passport somewhere a little unexpected.
Instead of traveling across the globe, my passport travels through time. Each page is a passport to meet an extraordinary woman from French history. Imagine sharing tea and cakes with Marie Antoinette at Versailles before history took its tragic turn, strolling the gardens with Empress Joséphine, or stepping into another century to meet remarkable women whose stories continue to inspire us today.
That's one of the things I love most about journaling. We aren't limited by maps or calendars. With a little paper, a bit of imagination, and a handful of ephemera, we can travel anywhere; even to places and moments that only exist in our dreams.
I'd love to know... if you could stamp your own Passport of Possibilities, where—or when—would you go?

Print What You Want, When You Want It
Have you ever sat down with a precious hour to create, only to realize you're missing the one thing you need to finish your page?
Maybe it's the perfect sticker. Maybe it's a vintage label. Maybe it's a pocket, tag, or piece of ephemera that would tie everything together.
So you stop creating and start searching.
You dig through drawers. You browse online shops. You add things to your cart. You wait for shipping. And somewhere along the way, the creative spark that brought you to your craft table starts to fade.
That's exactly why I created StashGenie.
Instead of buying more supplies you'll eventually store away and forget, StashGenie helps you create exactly what you need in the moment.
Need a sheet of strawberry-themed labels? Done.
Vintage Paris ephemera? Done.
A set of hot air balloons for your Sisterhood Shuffle page? Done.
Because your creativity shouldn't have to wait for the mail.
Create Supplies as Unique as Your Projects
One of the things I love most about StashGenie is that no two creators work the same way and no two journals should look the same.
When you create with StashGenie, you're not choosing from the same clip art packs everyone else is using. You're creating pieces designed specifically for your project, your style, and your imagination.
Want cottagecore mushrooms? Victorian butterflies? Steampunk ladies? Vintage recipe cards? Coffee-loving Strawberry Shortcake stickers?
Create them. Print them. Use them.
Your Printer Is Your New Favorite Craft Supply
Think about how much money we spend collecting supplies "just in case" we need them someday.
With StashGenie, you can create and print what you need when inspiration strikes. No waiting. No hunting. No buying another pack because it contains one image you like.
Just open StashGenie, describe what you're looking for, and print your creations right from home.
Less searching. More creating. More finishing projects. More joy.
Because the best craft supply isn't the one collecting dust on a shelf—it's the one that helps you create something beautiful today.
